K+J Agency is Karen Peterson and Joanne Gibbs, who together have more than 30 years experience in the luxury, fashion and interior design industries with diverse backgrounds as editors, writers, event planners and public relations executives. They met 15 years ago at P.R. powerhouse LaForce + Stevens where they oversaw an array of fashion, design and luxury accounts including Ashley Hicks, Banana Republic, Bernhardt Design, Doris Leslie Blau, Elle, Elle Decor, Escada, House & Garden, Kelly Hoppen, Richard Mishaan and Homer, Shabby Chic, Williams-Sonoma, and Vertu, among others.

Karen and Joanne formed the K+J Agency in 2006 to get back to what they really love: being intimately involved with the people and companies they truly believe in.

A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Gibbs brings an international vision to her work. As Director of Public Relations for Donna Karan Home, she oversaw the successful launch of the home division, bringing to market DKNY, DKNYPure, DKNYPlay, and Donna Karan Collection brands with creative national and local public relations and marketing campaigns. Joanne also represented Zenith Watches in the U.S. market and while in New Zealand worked in sales & marketing for Clarins Skin Care, Christian Dior cosmetics and Gucci fragrances. Currently, she serves on the planning committee for DIFFA Dining by Design.

A Navy brat, Peterson counts San Diego, Cleveland, and Subic Bay in the Philippines as hometowns. For many years she was Director of P.R. & Special Events for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), overseeing the annual CFDA Fashion Awards, two editions of 7th on Sale, and the creation -- with Vogue, Mayor Bloomberg, and NYC&Co. -- of Fashion’s Night Out. She has also worked at Calvin Klein, Harper’s Bazar, The Fragrance Foundation, DC Comics and Vogue Patterns. She currently serves on the board of Housing Works Thrift Shops.
